Mr. Skinner is an experienced business executive whose career has included work as a newspaper reporter, attorney and real estate developer/broker. He is a third generation native of Jacksonville and obtained his BS degree in journalism from the University of Florida and a law degree from Stetson University. He practiced law for five years at Rogers Towers law firm in Jacksonville, before joining his two brothers in a family real estate and tree nursery business. In 1993 he took over his father’s real estate business. Skinner developed various office buildings in Southpoint and was a partner in the development of Avenues Professional Park. As the owners’ agent for his family holdings, he managed the development of the SR9-A/Baymeadows Road interchange into a successful commercial node. He spends a great deal of time working with individuals to achieve sobriety through the program of Alcoholics Anonymous and stays involved with various volunteer organizations that work in the field of addiction recovery.
