Awareness & Prevention

Gateway’s extensive outreach prevention programs engage all facets of the community, from elementary, middle and high school students to the elderly in deterring the development of drug abuse through education.

By identifying and enhancing protective factors while minimizing risk factors, initiatives can help prevent alcoholism and addiction disorders. Gateway’s Keep Kids Drug Free (KKDF) Northeast Regional Resource Prevention Center was established to provide assistance in the way of prevention materials, information, education, workshops and activities to increase resilience of children and families in regard to abusing alcohol, tobacco, other drugs and other negative behaviors and risk factors. The KKDF Resource Prevention Center has also responded to the need to put the best resources directly into the hands of Florida’s Prevention and Clinical professionals.

Services include:

  • Community outreach presentations for specific target audiences
  • Web-based services
  • Student assistance programs
  • Drug-free workplace programs
  • Free literature
