Time To Talk About It: Talkable Communities offers courses to spot youth mental health crises

September Marks the 30th Anniversary of National Recovery Month

Every September, SAMHSA sponsors Recovery Month to increase awareness and understanding of mental and substance use disorders and celebrate the people who recover. The 2019 theme is Join the Voices for Recovery: Together We Are Stronger. (More about Recovery Month)

Gateway is partnering with Beaches Recovery and River Region to bring a host of events to the recovery community this month.

Recovery Events:

Walk – September 14th at 7:30am located at Gateway (555 Stockton Street)

Basketball – September 19th at 6:30pm located at PAL (2165 W. 33rd St.)

Volleyball – September 21st at 10:00am located at Beaches Recovery (390 16th Ave. S.)

Talent Show – September 26th at 6:00pm located at Gateway (555 Stockton Street)

Block Party – September 27th at 5:30pm located at Gateway Alumni House (900 Bridier St.)

 

 

Gateway Celebrates 40 Years of Service (1978 – 2018)

This year marks Gateway’s 40th anniversary. In 1978, a group of recovering alcoholics wanted their “miracle of sobriety,” which was achieved through the success of 12 Step recovery and treatment, brought to the Jacksonville community for those suffering from addiction, especially those without means to pay. Today, Gateway has become a recognized leader in the treatment of substance use disorders and mental health while changing the lives of over 300,000 people through treatment and prevention services.
