Dr. Davalu Parrish

Dr. Parrish was one of the founders of The Bridge of NE Florida, a comprehensive multi service program with seven satellite locations in some of Jacksonville’s most impoverished neighborhoods. The programs and services grew during her leadership to over 3,500 children served. She established the Bridge to Success School for over-age youth to graduate high school in partnership with the Duval County Public Schools currently operating at The Bridge Dr. Parrish retired from her position at The Bridge in 2013. She is a mentor and volunteer at The Bridge. Dr. Parrish received her BA Degree from Oklahoma City University, with graduate courses at American University and University of Florida. She received a Masters and Doctorate Degree from Nova University. Dr. Parrish’s work in the community has been recognized by the Governor’s Heartland Award – 1997, the One Jax Humanitarian Award -1999, Florida Times Union Eve Award – 2009, Gateway Girl Scouts Women of Distinction – 2011, Women of Color Education Service Award.
